AHB 2024 Scholarship Application
Read this before applying below
Who is Eligible
Each year, through the generous support of its members and sponsors, the Atlantic Harmony Brigade (AHB) grants a number of full scholarships to qualified young adults. This scholarship includes learning materials, room (non-smoking double occupancy), and board. Each attendee bears personal travel costs.
To be eligible, you must be 18 to 25 years old on the first day of the AHB Rally (August 16th, 2024).
Membership or participation in the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS), Sweet Adelines International (SAI), Harmony Incorporated (HI), or International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA) competition is not a requirement to receive a scholarship. Neither is enrollment in an educational institution.
How it Works
The Scholarship committee will read your application and check your reference(s). Once accepted, we’ll inform you about the next steps.
All accepted Scholars attendees must make a $40 deposit for the Rally before receiving music. This deposit will be refunded after you attend the Rally.
Learning materials (mp3’s and PDFs) typically become available by April 15th. They become accessible via a password-protected portal on the AHB website www.AtlanticHarmonyBrigade.com.
The Brigade will automatically and randomly assign roommates of the same sex unless specific roommate requests are made, in writing, before July 1st.
On Being Prepared
Harmony Brigade participants depend on everyone arriving at the Rally fully prepared to sing their part all weekend without music. Attendees embrace an ethic that says, “I will be the person everyone will be glad they sang with.” Preparation is everything.
Voluntary Withdrawal After Acceptance
The AHB requests that an invitee who realizes they will be unable to meet the required level of preparation withdraw before July 1st and notify the Brigade immediately. An invitee who removes themselves will keep the music and learning materials and be spared the potential disappointment and embarrassment of not coming prepared. We must respect the time, work, and effort of those who attend the event. Please note that your deposit of $40 will not be refunded if you withdraw.
