AHB 2022 Scholarship Application

Read this before applying below

How it works
Each year, the Atlantic Harmony Brigade, through the generous support of its members and sponsors, grants a limited number of full scholarships to deserving young adults (ages 18 to 25) who are qualified.  A committee will read your application and check your reference(s). If your application is accepted, you’ll be notified, and the learning materials (mp3’s and pdf’s) will be made available to you in early April.  If invited, you will occasionally receive pre-event email info. Information will also be provided on the AHB website www.AtlanticHarmonyBrigade.com. Be sure to keep up to date and reply to email in a timely fashion, if requested.  Most questions can be answered on the website.  All attendees will also be required to make a refundable $40 deposit for the rally.  (A refund of this deposit will be made after the rally.)  This scholarship includes learning materials and room and board for the weekend.  All rooms are double occupancy and nonsmoking.  The Brigade will automatically and randomly assign roommates of the same sex, unless specific roommate requests are made, in writing, prior to July 1st.

On Being Prepared
The fun, camaraderie, rewards, and success of a Harmony Brigade depend on all its participants being completely and uncompromisingly prepared. The fun that you and all of the quartet partners you’ll sing with throughout the weekend have will stem from YOU enthusiastically subscribing to an ethic that says, “I will be the person everyone will be glad they sang with.” The three singers you are going to sing with in the quartet contest will certainly be depending on you to know your part when you arrive. So will everyone else.  Preparation is everything.

Withdrawal After Acceptance
The AHB requests that an invitee who realizes—through their own self-evaluation or with advice from experienced Brigaders—that they will be unable to meet the required level of preparation, voluntarily withdraw themselves prior to July 1st and notify the Brigade immediately. An invitee who withdraws themselves will keep the music and learning materials and be spared potential disappointment and embarrassment of not coming prepared. More importantly, they will be respecting the time, work, and effort of those who attend the event and are well prepared. Please note that your deposit of $40 will not be refunded if you withdraw.
